Well I’ll be!
Metallica have been announced as the headliners for the 10th installment of the Download festival at Donington Park on Saturday, June 9, 2012. That happens in England, for those of you who suck at geography.
This exclusive U.K. performance will feature Metallica’s members playing their infamous 1991 LP “The Black Album” in its motherlovin’ entirety.
It will be the eighth time the California metal titans will have played at Donington during their three-decade-long career, having previously performed at both Monsters Of Rock and Download festivals.
“Six years is way too long to be away from the hallowed grounds of Donington Park,” says Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. “We are beyond psyched and feel privileged to come back once again to soak up the energy and vibe of the most legendary of festival sites.”
I have always wanted to go to Download and hit on English chicks with cute accents. Maybe 2012 is my year? Tickets go on sale in a week.
More bands will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks. Let’s hope Lou Reed will also be playing Download, so he can come out with Metallica, they’ll play one of those lame-ass Lulu songs, and get booed off the stage. That would be phat video.
