This is basically the coolest thing Metallica has done in eons.
On April 18, the band will re-release its 1982 demo No Life ‘Til Leather as a limited-edition cassette tape.
I guess that means Dave Mustaine’s gonna get some more Metallica money.
A statement from the band says the demo “led us to our first record deal. The rest, as you some of you may know, is history!”
Metallica have “been digging through the archives, gone to the original source material and re-mastered it to maximize the sound potential for 2015 without altering the original mixes in any way.”
The demo was recorded on July 6, 1982, at Chateau East Studio in Tustin, California, and boasts the tracks “Motorbreath,” “Metal Militia,” “Seek & Destroy,” and “Hit the Lights.”
It also features the talents of bassist Ron McGovney.
