I think that’s a sentiment we can all get behind.
But for dozens of Jackson, Michigan, residents, it’s not Godsmack’s awful music or members’ annoying personalities they’re objecting to.
It’s the band’s lyrics. I object to everything about this band, so I am with them in their fight.
Reports claim the residents want the band’s August 5 concert at the Jackson County Fair cancelled, claiming the band’s lyrics are inappropriate for a family event.
A public meeting drew several denizens, including Billie Buda, who called the band’s participation in the event “completely unacceptable.”
She added: “The lyrics threaten women, children and the weak. It’s ridiculous. It’s obscene and it’s not something we need.”
She also doesn’t like the band’s witch craft affiliations.
“It’s moral decay in the community and we don’t need it, there is enough going on here,” she added.
