Anticipation has clearly been building towards the projected launch of the Microsoft HoloLens product and let’s face it you can understand why when you look at what it is capable of doing. This product is being seen as something that is going to completely change the way that we view the world, but of course we still need to get our hands on it in the first place.
The Projected Release Date.
We were already aware of the fact that the release date for the Microsoft HoloLens was going to coincide with the launch of Windows 10 as it needs that particular operating system in order to work. Windows 10 is of course out on the market, but we are going to have to wait a bit longer for HoloLens as the industry believes that it is not going to hit the shelves until the build up to Christmas.
However, you can understand why Microsoft will be looking at an Autumn time launch because this is one product that is more than likely going to sell in huge numbers in the latter part of the year. They know that it will be a Christmas smash, so look out for more information on it coming soon.
Why Are People So Fascinated With It?
The HoloLens is like nothing you have ever seen before. It looks like a pair of futuristic glasses and that is because that is what it is all about. People can wear this product and interact with their environment in ways that they never thought would be possible. It means you can learn about various products, browse the Internet and do so much more and it is all done in 3D and through the use of holograms.
Imagine walking into a room and being able to learn various things about the items around you. Imagine having a brand new way of interacting with your environment and things being brought to life via images that leap out before you. The fact that they are also opening up the ability to develop new tools for it does also mean that there is so much scope for this technology that it is going to be absolutely mind blowing when it does indeed hit the market.
So, for the Microsoft HoloLens:
- We can expect an official launch date towards the end of 2015.
- Expect it to be timed perfectly for the sake of Christmas.
- It uses Windows 10 to work.
- It is going to be the most futuristic piece of technology in years
Microsoft have put a lot of effort and money into developing this technology, so it is going to be interesting to see how well it is received when it does indeed hit the shelves. There is no doubt that what they are doing is extremely interesting, but whether or not people take to the technology is the key question here.
The one thing that is certain is that it will initially sell well due to the intrigue as to how the world will be viewed through this headset and you never know, perhaps soon we will all be walking around wearing them.
