Mnemic To Begin Recording New Shit In February

She hates djent. The word, not the style.

That’s right, kiddies.

Mnemic will be hitting Antfarm Studios in February to begin recording their new album.

Mnemic have tapped producer Tue Madsen (Behemoth, Sick Of It All, The Haunted) to helm the new disc.

The as-yet untitled album from the Danish metal band will likely arrive in stores in June through Nuclear Blast.

The band’s Web site claims Mnemic “is praised and being recognized as part of the djent music scene, a genre created by the polyrhythmic pioneers of metal, Meshuggah.”

That’s cool. Now bands are associating themselves with djent. I wonder how the members of Meshuggah feel about being call the grand daddies of djent.

For the record, I don’t believe in djent. I believe in metal. If it sounds like metal, call it metal. Fucking djent? No — it’s metal or it’s not. End of story.
