Remember Monster Magnet? If you grew up during the 1990s, you should. They did that song “Negasonic Teenage Warhead” and then kind of fell off the face of the musical map. But if you seriously listen to some old Monster Magnet, you’ll find it’s actually quite genius.
Well, the New Jersey metallers will return in October with a new album, Mastermind. There is no set-in-stone release date yet, but the disc will be released through Austrian label Napalm Records. The album features 12 ripping tracks, including “Hallucination Bomb,” “Bored With Sorcery,” “Gods and Punks,” “The Titan Who Cried Like A Baby,” and “When The Planes Fall From The Sky.”
“I’m extremely proud of this new album,” says Monster Magnet frontman Dave Wyndorf. “It’s been an amazing process, the songs are exactly what I wanted them to be, and I’m proud to begin presenting this new phase of the band on our new website.”
I’d be down to hear this album. I just hope the Magnet doesn’t embarrass itself.
