Or at all, depending on who you are.
In a new interview, Morbid Angel guitarist Destructhor (a.k.a. Thor Anders Myhren) says it is not hard to hear criticism of the band’s new album, Illud Divinum Insanus, which everyone seems to hate.
“That is really not a problem,” said Destructhor. “I mean, of course, it is cool when people like the album, but then again, you can’t please them all. But I also do understand that people react to the new Morbid Angel record, ’cause it is unnecessary to say it is very different from everything else Morbid has ever put out. Me included, [I was] very surprised when I first heard it. But do also remember the fact that a big part of the album still represents fast and sick death metal extremities. About the rest of the album, it kind of shows us that Morbid Angel were always walking their own path being different. This highly proves this, I would say.”
Thor also commented on the ever-changing beast that is the music industry.
“The music industry is constantly in change, as with everything on the planet. Time does not stand still nor does the music industry. Morbid handles that very well. I mean, art is timeless and art is what we create. Another thing is, of course, that Morbid have been around for a long time being very experienced in the industry and does deal with it just perfect.”
