It looks that way. Possibly.
But whether or not Death To All shows are announced for 2013 rests in the hands of one man…a drumming machine.
“I’m happy to say that we have been working on the possibility of a few Death To All dates in 2013,” writes Death’s manager, Eric Greif, on Facebook. “All was resting on the availability of the mighty Gene Hoglan…stay tuned for news.”
That’d be cool. So long as there’s air conditioning. I was at the New York show, and sweated balls all night. I think I lost five pounds in water weight alone.
I think this would be awesome for many of you who missed the tour last year. I think it’d even be great if they did a Canadian and/or some European shows. We’ll be one of the sponsors!
Last year, the Death To All tour features a bunch of musicians from Death’s history, performing Death classic together. Among them, Sean Reinert (who played drums on Human), bassists Steve DiGiorgio and Scott Clendenin, and guitarists Paul Masvidal, Shannon Hamm and Bobby Koelble.
Several special guests were tapped for certain dates, including Richard Christy of Charred Walls of The Damned (formerly of Death, of course), Alex Skolnick and Chuck Billy of Testament, Paul Ryan of Origin, Craig Locicero of Forbidden, Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation, Trevor Strnad and Ryan Knight of The Black Dahlia Murder and Emil Werstler of Daath/Chimaira.
Of course, Gun Shy Assassin broke the news that Death’s camp and the dudes at Sick Drummer Magazine — the shady cocks who organized the Death To All Tour — were at odds over allegations from fans that VIP merch orders were never filled and the musicians on the tour were not paid.
