Director Derek Morse and Rachel Rosen — known for her bludgeoning work with Most Precious Blood and Indecision — have teamed up to start a new record label called MorseCode Recording.
“Rachel and I started the label to give back to a music scene that saved both of our lives,” explains Morse in a press release. He says that the label is also opening a recording studio with Chris Ross from Nora and Torchbearer and Chris Gobo from Doc Hopper and Deadguy; the studio will be located in Rahway, New Jersey, and should open in the next two months.
At the tail end of this post, check out a video trailer for what will be one of MorseCode’s 2011 releases: “Indecision the Documentary.” In it, members of the iconic New York hardcore outfit recall a trip they once took to Vancouver’s crack alley. I’ve been there; it’s where a bunch of junkies congregate and just get fucked up and walk around like zombies. It’s a pretty amusing yet slightly disturbing story.
In 2011, the label will be releasing the vinyl version of the new Most Precious Blood disc Do Not Resuscitate, and All Guilty from The May 4th Massacre, a band featuring the sons of two members of Boys Sets Fire.
