That, the question posed today by MetalSucks, after a countdown clock (why is everyone doing this lately?) appeared on the band’s MySpace page. Nuclear Blast plugged the countdown clock on their Facebook page (“countdown has begun for Norway’s Enslaved NEW ALBUM”), and the clock counts down to two days from now.
Yes, there has been talk of a 2010 release for the new disc from the sinister progressive black metal act, but its doubtful they’re going all Radiohead/ Trent Reznor on us, and releasing a disc in two days, with no promotion. Albums typically come out on Tuesdays, so why would Enslaved want to issue new material on a Thursday or a Friday?
It’s probably safe to assume they’re just going to release all of the pertinent details regarding the disc. Some big announcement about the release date…maybe the album art. Hell, perhaps they’ll even give us a song preview? Let’s just wait and see. Then again, if they do decide to release it before the weekend, how rad would that be?
