New Nine Inch Nails Coming Today? For FREE?

The giveaway that something was awry

Well…a preview, at least. That’s the word online: That Trent Reznor — who, for all intents and purposes, is Nine Inch Nails — will release five songs for free online download today through his website. He sold his last two NIN releases through the same site and sold a butt-load.

Rumors started earlier this week after someone noticed that, over at Null Corporation, a black square recently appeared. Scroll over the black square and a “Coming Soon” would emerge to the left.

The songs are said to be taken from Trent’s soundtrack for that Facebook movie. Is anyone interested in actually seeing that flick? And does the fact that they made a movie about it negate Facebook’s alleged coolness? Or did my mom’s joining do that?

The full record will be sold through Amazon for just $3. That’s right. It drops September 28. Let’s all listen to the five songs and then check back in with thoughts. I will try to blog about it as well. New Nine Inch Nails! Psyched.
