Onetime Megadeth drummer Nick Menza — who had been rumored to be returning to his former band following Shawn Drover’s departure last November — has gone online to wish Chris Adler well.
Adler, the drummer for Lamb of God, is said to be Megadeth’s new studio drummer, and will reportedly join the group in a matter of days in a studio in Nashville to start recording his parts for Megadeth’s next LP.
Menza writes online: “Well, since Adler is playing on Megadeth’s new album, do I get to play on Lamb of God’s new album? I’m down for it.”
He wishes he were in Lamb of God. Fuck, I wish I were in Lamb of God. Who doesn’t want to be in Lamb of God, aside from Nergal, possibly?
Menza capped off his message to Adler by saying, “Chris, you rock! One of my favorite drummers. Good luck, bro.”
Megadeth have allegedly also tapped Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro for their upcoming album sessions.
If you’re new to the site and you’re into Lamb of God, it may interest you to know that we used to run a series of intimate interviews with Chris, a series that abruptly ended because the band’s publicist loathes the very air I inhale.
You can check out that series — which largely chronicles the creation of the band’s last album, Resolution — here.
