TMZ.com is reporting that former Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss bassist Nick Oliveri has been formally charged with four felonies stemming from his arrest last month following a five-hour standoff with the po-po. Speaking of po-po, I like the police. I know a lot of police officers and they’re all good eggs. But this one prick in Weehawken, New Jersey. Bald, bitter old asshole is so surly, an encounter with him will always ruin your day.
Anyways, so, yeah — Nick Oliveri now faces up to 15 years in prison after last month’s incident, which led to Nick’s arrest on domestic violence charges.
The police were called to the scene of Oliveri’s apartment by a neighbor, who reported a “disturbance” between Nick and his girlfriend, who I imagine looks like that chick.
A SWAT Team was called in, and there was a standoff between police and Nick that allegedly lasted hours and ended when Nick finally agreed to let his girlfriend exit the duplex. Once she was out, cops stormed Nick’s residence, kicking in his door and taking him into custody.
Oliveri’s girl allegedly told police he hit her, which I guess dude’s got a history of. Police searched his home and reportedly found a fully loaded high-powered rifle, cocaine and methamphetamines. Nick has been formally charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count of resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer.
In short, that dude’s life is going to suck for the next three to 18 years.
