Bleak, brutal, depressing, desolate, dismal, dank, and hopeless.
All words one could’ve used to describe your last date.
These are also words one could use to describe the music of Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus, whose album, Synkkä Tuuli, we are streaming for you today exclusively. Because we’re cool like that.
Hailing from Philadelphia, Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus are a black metal trio forged out of the icy wilderness of the frigid north.
Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus, a press release says, “composes several tracks of cold subsonics and frigid atmospheres.” This is completely accurate.
Some of you may not take to Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus, who were inspired by founder Mika Mage’s Finnish heritage. Nope. It isn’t music for everybody, and that’s the point.
This is ambient, atmospheric black metal for fans of artists like Gris, Paysage D’Hiver, Burzum, Velvet Cacoon, Trist, and Neige Et Noirceur.
Synkkä Tuuli is in stores today, and can be ordered here.
First, though, check out the album in its entirety, compliments of GunShy.
