So, last week, I went to see Acaro and Death Ray Vision at the basement at Webster Hall, and got to see all the lads and get some hang time in.
‘Twas a good show. I was also impressed with the live show put on by the locals who opened: a young band by the name of The Only Weapon.
I ran into Joe after their set, and told him he should email me with his contact information because I’d talk about his band’s set on GSA — a site he said he’d heard of but admitted he’d never visited. That should change now, huh?
At the end of this post, you can hear songs from the band, who put on a good live show and had me bopping my head with the quickness.
As of now, the band’s are working on a new album, as well as gearing up to release the audio they caught from the Webster Hall show, which is being mixed at this very moment.
Check them out. You may not dig it, but I did. And hell, they’re from New York. I think The Only Weapon is only going to improve and dude, watch…in a few years, who knows? They could end up on a label with a slot on a summer festival.
Whatever. Let me know what you think.
