So, if you’re not familiar with Oathbreaker, then this is your lucky day. The hardcore metal outfit is from Ghent, Belgium, and they fucking rip; for evidence, check the video at the end of this post. Now, they’ve got themselves a new record deal with Deathwish Inc.
Formed in 2008, Oathbreaker released a debut 7-inch EP on the British label Thirty Days Of Night Records, and their next album, the band announced, will be out on Deathwish, and will be called Mælstrøm.
Recorded in Belgium by Michael Neyt and Lander Cluyse, the disc was mixed by Kurt Ballou of Converge, and mastered by Alan Douches (who has worked with Converge and The Dillinger Escape Plan).
The album is supposed to be fucking insanely good, from what people have been telling me. A release date and other album specifics will be released soon.
