Well-known guitarist and composer Ron Jarzombek — known for his work with Blotted Science, Watchtower, and Spastic Ink — has started a new project called Terrestrial Exiled, and the group features two members of Obscura, your new favorite band.
Obscura guitarist Christian Münzner will serve as co-guitarist, while Spastic Ink’s Pete Perez will handle bass. Obscura drummer Hannes Grossmann is also in the band.
The group’s digital single, “Duodecimal Levorotation,” was produced and mixed by Ron Jarzombek and V. Santura and mastered by Jacob Hansen. It’s available online right fucking now.
Jarzombek first teamed with Münzner and Grossmann when he was approached about contributing a guest solo on Obscura’s 2009 breakthtrough album Cosmogenesis.
“Chris and I were hanging out when I played the Keep It True festival with Watchtower last year,” Ron was quoted by Blabbermouth as saying. “We got to talking about guitars, planets, 12-tone configurations and other techy stuff so we thought it might be a cool idea to put something together. I didn’t really have a specific musical direction in mind so I just asked everybody to write a few things and see what happened. We got sort of an ‘alien planet vibe’ from it as the song started to take shape. Call it ‘musical ‘Star Wars’’ for serious prog metal geeks!”
