Orgy Singer Says It’s Harder To Survive As A Musician These Days

Jay Gordon

Especially when you’re a musician no one gives a fuck about.

Look, Orgy’s Jay Gordon — it is harder for all of us to survive these days, regardless of profession. Get used to it. Things aren’t going to change for a while if ever.

Rock Revolt Magazine spoke with Gordon, who insists on persisting with this band Orgy. I honestly can’t imagine anyone giving even half a fuck about this but they apparently do, much to my confusion.

“It’s much harder to be able to survive in this day and age, unless you win the lottery or something,” says Gordon.

“People shouldn’t get discouraged, just be careful with what you do, and make sure that it doesn’t suck,” he said. Because you’d take advice from a dude in a band called Orgy.

“The industry is so fickle. It really is hard to make money these days; unless you are, like, [Justin] Bieber or someone like that (I’m not doing that!),” says Gordon.

“That guy is doing his thing, though. He’s selling records. That’s what we are in the game for. If you don’t really have that magnetic thing that is going to happen right away, then it may not be the best idea. It’s tough to survive, even for bands that have been around for a long time.”

Weak sauce. All around.
