At least that’s what he said in what must have been an email Q&A with a Brazilian Ozzy Osbourne tribute site. To me, it sounds like it was actually answered by a publicist, but I could be wrong. Probably am.
When asked by the site about Scream, his new record, Ozzy said what would be obvious to anyone who listened to that record: “Honestly, I’m not thinking about how to be relevant when writing and recording new songs. I’m just trying to do something that I like and that I’m proud of.”
There you have it. Ozzy doesn’t care about being relevant. He just does what he has to do and what he wants to do. But remember, “I never take my fans for granted. I consider it a privilege to perform for them and if they are going to pay their hard-earned money to come to my concerts then I’m always going to give them everything I got.”
When asked if there was “still a dream” Ozzy hoped to accomplish, his astute publicist…I mean, Osbourne responded, “I just want to continue to make good music that people are still interested in hearing.”
If you haven’t fallen asleep by now from these boring-ass answers, you’re a better man than me. I just dozed off for ten minutes myself.
Don’t get me wrong. I love everything Ozzy did with Black Sabbath. But that Scream record was pure and utter rubbish.
