You know, I was once told that Razor & Tie is not a Christian label. Sure.
Christian nu-metal band P.O.D. have signed a new multi-album worldwide deal with Razor & Tie, and will reunite with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance) for their as-yet untitled new record.
The new P.O.D. album will surface through the label in the spring.
“We are really excited to be starting a new chapter of our career with Razor & Tie,” says P.O.D. vocalist Sonny Sandoval. “We just can’t wait to put out the new album and show everyone what we’ve worked so hard on.”
Why do I not care at all about this? Like, I truly don’t know anyone who likes this band. Doesn’t P.O.D. stand for Punishment On Disc?
“P.O.D. is a relevant, legendary, iconic band and we are very excited that they have decided to work with us,” commented Razor & Tie co-owners Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam. Relevant? “We have made a real commitment to releasing quality music from the best rock bands and signing P.O.D. is a serious statement about how serious and passionate we are.”
Man — will any of you pick this new P.O.D. album up when it comes out? I think perhaps people looking for a new V.O.D. album might accidentally buy this forthcoming record. Other than that, show me the audience? Yes, I know I don’t live in the Bible Belt, but where are these fans? Where is the demand?
