Man, as much as I hate Papa Roach’s music and as much as there are about a dozen obvious jokes I could exploit here, I’d never wish ill-will on anyone.
It blows that their lead singer’s vocal chords are fucked up and he has to have surgery. For reals.
The band have been forced to back out of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, which launched last week in Kansas City.
Singer Jacoby Shaddix has been diagnosed with a nodule on his left vocal chord and at the advice of his physician, will undergo corrective surgery to remove the nodule and prevent further damage.
“It’s no secret that I’ve been having issues with my voice lately,” says Shaddix in a statement.
“I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me. I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it.
“The last thing we want to do is give our fans less than 100% every night. We know they’ll understand and we’ll be back better than ever,” he says.
Shaddix is expected to make a complete recovery.
