Periphery have a new album coming out that’s supposedly “experimental.”
Isn’t that what these dudes do?
I received a press release yesterday on the new Periphery, in which the band’s compared to Dream Theater and the Deftones.
That’s a stretch, although in the following teaser trailer, you’ll see that the band’s definitely shooting for that sound.
“Periphery represents the vanguard of addictive, chaotic, challenging and cathartically inviting heavy music for the modern era,” says the release. “Their triple-guitar attack and rhythmic dexterity has won them devoted adherents across underground subcultures, regardless of whether those fans were weaned on the passion-fueled sounds of progressive rock from bands like Dream Theater or modern avant garde rock bands like The Deftones.”
Called Clear, the new album drops January 28 through Sumerian Records.
