Peter Wichers Out Of Soilwork…Again

Peter Wichers

He’ll be back.

As they say, the third time’s the charm.

Citing “creative differences,” guitarist Peter Wichers and once-awesome Swedish metal band Soilwork have decided to part ways a second time.

“I want to thank everyone who has supported Soilwork over the years,” says Pete. “It has been a wild and fun ride, but it’s time for me to explore different options in my career. I will cherish all the amazing moments I have gathered from my time with Soilwork, and I would not be where I am today without the help from you fans, my family and Soilwork.”

He’ll be back.

I wonder what creative differences existed here. I wonder if Soilwork are going dubstep, and Wichers just couldn’t be a part of that. Or maybe Wichers wanted Soilwork to go dubstep, and they weren’t having it.

The point is, I think Soilwork are at that point where they need to do something to get people interested in them again. And that, my friends, probably caused the differences.

Wichers first quit Soilwork in late 2005, and rejoined the band in 2008.

He appears on all of Soilwork’s albums, except for 2007’s Sworn To A Great Divide.
