Phil Anselmo of Down and Pantera fame will soon release a split with Warbeast, featuring some of his long-ruminating solo tunes.
Warbeast are signed to Phil’s Housecore Records label, and the split will be called War Of The Gargantuas.
Phil recently spoke on the release with Loudwire.
“I think the first order at hand between Warbeast and myself is that we’re doing a split both of us, two songs and it’s called War of the Gargantuas,” Phil explains.
“I giggle because it’s a nod towards the 1960s film, a Japanese film called ‘War of the Gargantuas.’ It’s, as many things have been throughout, it’s sort of an inside joke between both bands and very much worth it for the old intestinal fuckin’ fortitude,” he explains.
I guarantee half of you will now Netflix “War of the Gargantuas.”
“Either way I picked two of the most straight on songs out of my solo stuff, the full length is pretty chaotic — sometime next year I would say March at the latest we’ll get some solo bullshit going your way,” he further reveals.
Phil’s solo album, Walk Through Exits Only, is recorded, Anselmo says, and just needs mixing.
