I’m really hoping Pitch Black Forecast rules.

I mean, most of what Gene Hoglan’s involved with slays. So chances are Pitch Black Forecast will also be great. I have just never heard them.

Hoglan formed the band with Jason Popson (or J Mann of Mushroomhead).

The band has signed a deal with Ohio-based Ferocious Records for the release of a new album featuring guest appearances by Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, Devin Townsend and M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold.

Pitch Black Forecast’s as-yet-untitled CD includes completely remixed and remastered tracks from their previous two self-released efforts (an out-of-print LP and one EP).

“This record is a compilation of my favorite Pitch Black Forecast songs, which are remixed with additional tracking and far closer to my initial vision,” said Popson.

“The funny thing about side projects is the time frame in which you must deliver, sometimes things are rushed and unfocused. With this release, we’ve trimmed the fat and took our time compiling what I consider the definitive Pitch Black Forecast release.”

Look for the disc this fall.
