Poisonblack Lose Guitarist Janne Markus

NO!!!!!!!!!!! Not Janne Markus!!! He was, like, the heart and soul of the Finnish poop metallers. Actually, Markus revealed about a month ago that he’d be sitting out the band’s current European tour, so I guess that “sitting out” has become more permanent.

Markus was with the band for four years and two albums. He is now out of the band. Last month, the band did not mention why Markus had to sit out the trek, but now, I guess we know why.

“[Janne’s] goals and ambitions couldn’t have come true in Poisonblack and we totally understand and respect that,” the band says in a statement. “His creativity needs a different setting than Poisonblack can and ever will provide. This is the one and only time we’re going to explain the reasons behind his departure, so do not bother asking.” Fine, I won’t.

“We thank him for the music, the unforgettable moments we all shared together on and off stage and wish him the best for the future,” the statement concluded. Poisonblack will be making a new record early next year with producer Tue Madsen, who has worked with everybody. The tentatively-titled Lead and Roll Vol. 5 will be out in the spring.
