Full disclosure: I am no fan of Psychostick.
I had the skateboard as a kid, but can’t appreciate the band named after it because they’re “comedy rock.” Like Spinal Tap, I guess. But Spinal Tap was more than just music.
They’re just a band trying to be outrageous and goofy. Please.
Now, Psychostick have become the latest band to turn to their fans to fund the recording of a new album.
The funds will also help the band complete the construction of their new recording studio.
The campaign kicked off yesterday, and runs for a month.
Already, Psychostick have raised nearly $8,000 of the $30,000 they’re seeking.
Says Psychostick guitarist Josh Key: “This fundraiser is not just for a new album, but so much more! We’re building a sweet studio; we want to put out new music and videos on a regular basis, so that fans don’t have to wait through long dry spells between albums to hear something new from us. This fundraiser will enable us to make that happen.”
