Lou Reed, the Velvet Underground member who worked with Metallica and ruined their reputation, has died.
Guess that means we’re definitely not getting a Lulu follow-up. Good.
Reed, a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist for the Velvet Underground who also worked as a solo artist, died Sunday on Long Island.
He was 71.
Reed’s publicist, Peter Noble, confirmed Reed’s death but would not release any details about his passing.
Reed had undergone a liver transplant in May.
He allegedly died in the presence of his wife, musician and performance artist Laurie Anderson.
