I live in New Jersey. I am not from New Jersey, but I’ve adopted it as my home state for the time being. The one thing I will never understand about New Jersey residents is their unflinching love for Bruce Springsteen.
Liking Bruce is basically a birth right here. I almost tapped this 24-year-old whose favorite musician was Bruce. I was like, “Baby girl, have you not listened to any music made after 1988?”
Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave fame is a Bruce fan, and apparently appears on seven tracks on Bruce’s upcoming new album.
On High Hopes, Springsteen claims Morello served as his “muse.”
The songs Morello appears on are “High Hopes,” “Harry’s Place,” “American Skin (41 Shots),” “Just Like Fire Would,” “Heaven’s Wall,” “Hunter Of Invisible Game” and “Dream Baby Dream.”
Morello also duets on a new rendition of “The Ghost Of Tom Joad” that appears on the disc.
Here’s the title track from the record. In the event you care. Or are from Jersey.
