Readers’ Bands: Get Progressive With Russia’s Paskura

Moscow-based rockers know what they’re doing, and hope this article brings them much success

If you’re a regular here, you well know my affinity for progressive rock and metal.

That’s why I was excited to check out Russian outfit Paskura.

Andrey, the band’s drummer, wrote to GSA a while back seeking a review for their debut album, Spika, which is streaming for his and her pleasure at the end of this post.

“We would like you to check it out, because we think it fits the concept of your site,” Andrey writes from Moscow. We would also really appreciate if you spread the word about us on your site. We hope you’ll love the album, and we’ll succeed.”

Well Andrey, I can’t say whether you’ll succeed or not, because I wouldn’t know. I can say I dig your sound, but will admit the vocals took some getting used to.

Paskura is a decent band you should check out if you dig rock’s weird side.
