Readers’ Bands: Let’s Meet Absence Of Heroes

Absence of Heroes

Since we first launched this column spotlighting the band’s of our different readers, we have come across a bunch of acts that have just blown us the fuck away.

Then there’s California band Absence of Heroes, who should rename themselves Absence of Talent.

A dude from the band contacted us recently, extolling the awesomeness of GSA and plugging the band’s forthcoming EP.

The email asked what Absence of Heroes needed to do to get some coverage. The answer? Just tell us you read the site, dudes. That’s all it takes to be in the Readers’ Bands column. I can’t promise you’ll like our coverage, but its coverage.

You can hear Absence of Heroes at the end of this post. No tee shirt would be worn on my body.

“With influences like Bane, Chevelle, Pantera, Tool, Deftones, Slipknot, Terror, GodSmack, Incubus, Alice In Chains, etc., and an intense drive to succeed, Absence of Heroes is being described as a new upcoming player in the Rock Scene.” Nice press release.

I don’t like the fact that these guys are readers. In fact, they may be one of the worst bands I have heard in recent memory.

What are those vocals all about? Guys, just stop.
