We get emails from bands on the regular, asking us for some promotional space on the site, and this is how we handle it.
The Readers’ Bands column is where we spotlight smaller bands with hardly any publicity machine behind them, but only if they actually happen to an express an opinion about the site.
You’ve gotta be a reader to be featured.
One such reader, Brandon, fronts a band called American Standards and he reached out to the site recently to pimp the hardcore metal band’s music.
“I love all that you’re doing to support artists,” he writes about the site. “It definitely does not go unappreciated. I am writing for your support of our band; American Standards.”
The thing I will say about American Standards is they’re fucking tight. And unique. They almost remind me of a better version of The Bled.
But, yeah, I dig these Arizona boys.
“We toured the U.S. extensively in 2012 with dates including Sick Of All, Trial, Touché Amore and Joyce Manor,” writes Brandon. “It would be awesome if you could share us with your fans and consider us for features, interviews and album reviews.”
