Readers’ Bands: Now, Let’s Meet Greece’s Dope Flood

The worst thing to come out of Greece since John Stamos?

Meet them and then stay far, far away from them, because, well, they’re a clumsy hard rock band who would’ve been relevant 20 years ago.

Guitarist Cris Harison contacted us not that long ago to tell us all about Dope Flood, who are from Greece and re-released an EP called A Planet On Four Legs last year on TornFlesh Records.

“We will generally be glad to hear your opinion about the band’s music and see a review or interview or anything,” Cris writes.

Actually, dude…I don’t think you do.

Look, I’m an honest man. For the most part. I tell the truth, and if a band is shit, I let them know.

You guys need a lot of work. Right now, you sound like Stone Temple Pilots meets Godsmack with some Creed tossed in for shits and giggles — and that isn’t a good thing.

Can you guys play? Sure. I won’t take that away from you. But the combination of notes you’ve assembled just doesn’t get my metaphoric dick wet, if you know what I mean.

But keep trying to improve. Don’t let my words dissuade you. In fact, let them inspire you to try and become better, so maybe one day, I’ll eat my words.

Check out Dope Flood below, and let us know what you think, other than the obvious truth that their name is pretty awful, too.
