That’s right, people. Texas thrash act Rigor Mortis are returning with a renewed vigor, after 2008’s much-talked about Ozzfest performance. The band — who split in 1991 and reconvened in 2005 and 2008 for live gigs — are coming back full-time, according to a press release.
“The return of Rigor Mortis has been a long time coming,” the press release reads. “Though the band has reunited for a handful of shows over the last several years, schedules and personal lives just wouldn’t allow for the time and commitment necessary for the band to properly reemerge with new material and a determination to take Rigor to the next level.”
The band is set to go in the studio and to record their first new tracks in 20 years, starting March 6. They’ll go in with long time friend and producer Kerry Crafton. Talks with labels will follow and a new full length Rigor Mortis record will be released before the end of the year. Tour dates after the jump.
