Rob Zombie’s finally realized (perhaps) that his solo records have, as of late, been lacking that certain…I don’t know…oomph.
Revolver’s lame Web site is reporting that Zombie channeled White Zombie on his forthcoming record.
Zombie recently finished tracking the new disc with producer Bob Marlette.
“It would be really easy to grind out a traditional ‘Rob Zombie’ record, but I didn’t want to do that because that’s boring,” says Rob, not clarifying whether that boring remark was directed at himself or his fans.
“So I went back to the early days of White Zombie, took some of the wild and insane elements out of that band, and combined it with the skill level we’re at now,” boasts Zombie.
“White Zombie was writing stuff that barely made sense. It’s so weird, but it kinda worked. I wanted to bring back some of that oddness and make something really new. We’re making our best record ever. It’s the most alive, raw and crazy thing we’ve ever done.”
Look for that new Zombie dies early next year.
