Rockstar Mayhem Festival Dates Announced

Buy your tickets now, dummies

I have never understood this, and would love for someone to explain it to me: Why do these festival tour organizers release tour dates before announcing the lineup? I mean, I guess for most of you, the lineup won’t matter: You go to Mayhem every summer, no matter who’s playing, because that’s just what you do. But I don’t do that shit.

I need to know there’s going to be at least one band I can get excited for, and I guess Kevin Lyman hasn’t let me down yet, so I should assume the lineup will be solid. But just announce the dates when you finalize the lineup, too. I think it’s an odd way of going about things, but who am I to question Lyman’s process? It works.

So, we have all the Rockstar Mayhem Festival dates for you after the jump. Who’s playing? We have no idea yet. But, a special Mayhem Fest package went on sale. For $45, the “Holiday Package” includes a festival lawn ticket and fees, “Mayhem 2011 PIT Commemorative Collectible Holiday Ornament for the show selected which allows early entrance into the festival and a limited edition Mayhem beanie. Actual ticket will be sent to you two weeks before the show date.”

What if we all buy tickets and they get Insane Clown Posse to headline? Then you’ll be pissed. Trivium are the only band rumored to be playing the festival. Who would you like to see play?
