This is cool, but also not cool.
Deep Purple have been flatly dismissed from the 2013 class of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, but Rush did secure enough votes to make into the hall.
Deep Purple was also beat out by Heart, Public Enemy, that turd Randy Newman, Donna Summer and Albert King.
That’s fucking weak sauce, if ever I tasted it.
Lou Adler and Quincy Jones will also both receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers.
“It’s a terrific honor and we’ll show up smiling,” Rush’s singer and bassist, Geddy Lee, tells Rolling Stone. “It made my mom happy, so that’s worth it.”
Lee is especially happy for Rush’s army of hardcore fans. “It was a cause they championed,” he says. “I’m very relieved for them and we share this honor with them, for sure.”
It’s weird to think Geddy Lee has a mom. I wonder if her voice is equally as high or higher.
