And I wasn’t so sure I was psyched on it, until I found out why they named it what they did.
The doom metal legends have picked Lilly F65 as the title of their eighth studio album.
Lilly F65 will be Saint Vitus‘ first new album since 1995 and is set for release in early 2012 via Season Of Mist.
Saint Vitus frontman Scott “Wino” Weinrich explained to Terrorizer that the title is a drug reference. Big shocker there.
“Y’know the reason we called it Lilly F65? It was a powerful downer back in our day and well, [guitarist] Dave [Chandler] really had a thing for his downers,” Wino said.
I’ve never taken downers. Not without a prescription, anyways. I always figured Saint Vitus were more into cocaine, for some reason.
Clearly, their music doesn’t reflect that. Downers make more sense.
