Scar Symmetry Guitarist Joins The Absence

The Absence

Yes, folks — it is true.

The Absence has announced added guitarist Per Nilsson (who, last time I checked, was already the guitarist for a band called Scar Symmetry) to the fold.

The band is now working on new music with producer James Murphy, who is a righteous dude if ever there was one.

The band plan to release a new EP soon.

“Six years ago, the guys asked me to do a guest solo for the Riders album and we’ve been friends ever since,” says Per. “I’ve followed their career as a fan and when they reached out asking me to join the band, it was a no-brainer.

“I am super excited to be a part of The Absence family,” he says. “We’ve been jamming out some new tunes and I feel like we’ve got some killer stuff in the works for ya! Between Patrick and me, there’s gonna be some INSANE guitar-shreddin’ on the new tunes!”

It appears Per Nilsson will be in both bands. He’s multitalented.
