You know, when I was first laid off by MTV News in 2008, I did not want to accept it. Up and until that point, it was the best job I’d ever had, introducing me to some of my heros while providing perks up the ass and hot-ass interns anxiously waiting to do my bidding.
It took me a while to come to terms with what happened, and I let go off any hope I’d ever be asked back.
I can relate to Scott Weiland these days. I mean, that’s not to say I like mainlining crack, but it seems Scott’s not facing facts. He was fired by Stone Temple Pilots through one of the shortest press releases ever issued, and now says it’s just a ploy for press ahead of STP’s new tour.
Scott told TMZ.com at the Los Angeles airport prior yesterday that “STP is not broken up. It’s a whole thing to try to boost ticket sales.”
According to Scott, the members of Stone Temple Pilots are forbidden from using the name on another group, unless everyone who founded the band is involved.
Asked if he’s still fronting the band, Weiland declared, “I started it.”
Scott…it’s over. I have a feeling Army of Anyone will get back together now.
