Before you go assuming, know that the case has not been reopened. Kurt Cobain’s death will remain a ruled suicide.

But yes, Seattle police have confirmed they’ve recently reviewed crime scene photos from the scene of Kurt Cobain’s death.

Cobain’s body was found April 8, 1994 — nearly 20 years ago.

Fuck, do I feel old.

Reports claim police developed four rolls of film that had been sitting in their vault for 20 years.

The film was processed by the King County Sheriff’s Office photo lab under “high security.”

The images reportedly show a clearer view of the Nirvana frontman’s body than previous photos of the scene, but investigators decided not to reopen the case after examining the photographs.

But as the Seattle police Twitter account explains: “Our detective reviewed the case file anticipating questions surrounding the closed Cobain case as the 20 year anniversary approaches.”

Some outlets were reporting the case had been reopened.

They’re bad media outlets.
