Back in 2000, I interviewed Mike Patton for a Tomahawk piece I wrote for The Hartford Advocate and during that conversation, I asked Mike whether there would ever be a Faith No More reunion. He told me never — that if they did, it would be for one reason and one reason only. I’ll give you one guess? Yep — money.
So forgive me if Sepultura’s recent comments on a reunion of the classic lineup — which fans would go apeshit for — rings hallow. In an interview, Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser and Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. say there’s no chance a reunion is going down, sucker.
“No. There’s no reason to have a reunion. The only reason to have a reunion would be the money and that’s it. We have no contact [with Max], no nothing. In Brazil, there’s a saying, ‘zero on the left,’ which means nothing. For me it’s like that — gone. [Max] left the band because he wanted to. We don’t want to go and fuck up this lineup.”
Oh, yeah. Because everyone would be bummed about that. No one cares about this current Sepultura lineup. Everyone wants a reunion. Stop acting like it won’t happen because someday, it will. Oh yes…it will. Mark my fucking words.
