MetalTalk.net — a site I have never heard of before today, so take that for what it’s worth — is claiming to “have just been informed by a reliable source that Sharon Osbourne has fired Bill Ward.”
Of course, who the fuck knows if this is true or just a way to try to wrangle in some readers? Just take it with a grain of salt, people.
“If this turns out to be true, as fully expected, then it won’t go down well with the Metal community,” says MetalTalk.net. That’s word for word. That made me laugh, that sentence.
The site claims Bill’s replacement will be Tommy Clufetos from Ozzy Osbourne’s band.
Ward claims his participation had to be put on hold until he was presented with what he described as a “fair agreement” and a “signable contract” that financially reflected his contributions to Sabbath’s history as well as his standing as a founding member of Sabbath.
Black Sabbath responded by saying: “We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans… We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open. We are still in the U.K. with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll… See you at Download!!!”
