A gentleman by the name of EvilG has interviewed Shawn Drover of Megadeth, and guess what the drummer is blaming the disappointing sales of Super Collider on?
Survey says…Illegal downloads.
Couldn’t possibly be the record’s poop.
When reminded the album debuted at #6 on the Billboard Top 200 albums in the USA, and that the sales were down from the previous release, Drover said “we are certainly thrilled to have a #6 record on Billboard,” but sales could have been better, if it weren’t for those pesky kids.
“Sales are way down for the entire music industry right across the board, which is a real drag,” he said, the same week Black Sabbath are due to sell more than 100,000 copies.
“Internet piracy, torrent sites and all that are the reason why. Concert attendance for us is still great around the world, so we are definitely happy about that,” says Drover.
I like that Shawn always finds a silver lining.
