Usually, when people tell me to listen to a deathcore band, I hesitate and recoil. But throw the word progressive in front of deathcore, and you’ll get my attention.
I love prog rock and progressive metal, and didn’t even realize deathcore could be progressive. Enter Shores of Elysium, who are, in fact, progressive in their approach to the genre.
If you like technical shit, you might just appreciate this unsigned band’s second studio offering. A track off of it — called “The Principle of Succession” — is available to stream at the end of this post.
The album’s set for a December 8 release, and was recorded, produced and mastered by Mark Lewis of Audio Hammer Studios.
Are you interested in giving it a chance now, Mr. Elitist? Dude, Mark Lewis produces some tight-ass records, and this one’s no different.
The album’s called Entity In The Void, and should get your head bopping at least a little bit. Look, I know most of you are death and black metal fans who hate the cores, but this track’s totally worth your time.
