So, since Cattle Decapitation dropped off its tour with Six Feet Under because of friction between respective frontmen Travis Ryan and Chris Barnes, I’ve learned a lot of insight from our readers, who attended the earliest dates of the tour.
I’m being told that Barnes specifically tried to antagonize Cattle Decapitation, by saying things like, “I love meat” during his sets.
Cattle Decap like greens.
Last night, Barnes spoke out more about what exactly happened to cause the tension; it has been reported a physical fight broke out between the two, with Ryan claiming Barnes sucker-punched him.
“Bottom line if you break into someone’s back stage start calling them names and get in someone’s face what do u think will happen?,” Barnes asks online. “Oh and BTW it was not a sucker punch, i didn’t even throw a punch.”
What makes me believe Barnes is the tool here, and Cattle Decapitation was totally justified in bailing on the tour, is the past.
I had totally spaced on the fact that Seth Putnam of Anal Cunt had issues with Barnes.
Putnam allegedly heckled Barnes during a Six Feet Under set, leading to an altercation between the two, ending with Six Feet Under’s roadies ganging up on Putnam while Barnes fled to his tour bus, according to folk lore.
This led to the A.C. song “Chris Barnes is a Pussy,” which, it sounds like he may be.
