The remaining members of Slayer (which, at this point, may or may not include Dave Lombardo) will celebrate the life of recently-deceased guitarist Jeff Hanneman during a public event next week.
The remembrance will be held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on May 23.
Jeff was 49 when he died two weeks ago from alcohol related cirrhosis.
“The Jeff Hanneman Memorial Celebration will take place on Thursday, May 23 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles from 3:30 – 7:30PM,” says a presser.
“The Memorial Celebration will be free and open to the public on a first-come, first-in basis (subject to venue capacity). All ages are welcome, and paid parking will be available around the venue.”
Slayer announced last week that, despite Jeff’s death, the band would be honoring their European touring commitments.
And I would like to now publicly apologized to spiders, who I said could get fucked the day that Jeff passed.
Alcohol did him in, not the spider. So…my bad, spiders.
