Slayer guitarist and founding member Jeff Hanneman died earlier today of liver failure.
He was 49, and a metal legend.
“Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home,” says a statement from the band.
I am in total and utter shock right now.
First Chi, now this! Fuck spiders, man. Fuck spiders in the fucking ear!
“Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.”
This sucks. Like, tremendously. I need a second to breath.
Rest in power, Jeff.
Here’s one of my favorite tracks. Fuck, this is sad. I was holding out so much hope that Jeff would make a full recovery and be back with Slayer before the end of the year.
