My appendix is still intact, so I don’t know the pain that comes with such an event. But friends have told me the pain can be immense.
So, our thoughts are with Jim Root today, who has been “seriously sick for the past two weeks and went to the hospital last week where he was advised his appendix burst a couple of weeks before,” says a statement from the band.
What a machine! Jim Root was walking around for two weeks with his appendix destroyed. Jesus, no wonder Cristina Scabbia — subject of one of our earliest but failed columns — is all over the man.
Bad news is, Jim will be missing the first few shows on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
“It could have been life-threatening,” says the statement. “Jim is at home recovering and is awaiting surgery to have pieces of his appendix removed and hopes to join the tour as soon as he is able.”
Bummer. But, staying at home, recovering from surgery with Scabbia wouldn’t be so bad.
“Slipknot will continue to headline the Mayhem festival and all other shows. We refuse to let our fans down and will not miss a single date. We will miss Jim greatly and our thoughts are with him. Jim sends his love to each and every one of our fans.”
Get better soon, Jim. You’re an animal.
