On September 28, Slipknot will release a new DVD, containing live footage from one of the last “major performances” of late bassist Paul Gray’s life, which came to a tragic end a few months back when he was found died in a hotel room from an accidental overdose.
Called (sic)nesses, the DVD’s footage was primarily shot during Slipknot’s June 13, 2009, headlining set at the Download Festival in the United Kingdom, of all places. They played before “80,000 of their rabid fans,” a press release reads, and “the performance was absolutely electric, in typical Slipknot fashion, especially since it came hot on the heels of one of the strongest years in Slipknot’s illustrious career.”
The band employed 30 cameras to capture the “electric” performance, and the fans and their reactions to the show. And, of course, its important because it’s the only way “fans can enjoy a lasting glimpse of the bassist doing what he loved most.” Sniffle.
The DVD will also include Clown’s “Snuff” documentary — a 45-minute look at the making of 2008’s All Hope is Gone.
The tracklisting for (sic)nesses:
4. Wait and Bleed
5. Get This
6. Before I Forget
8. The Blister Exists
9. Dead Memories
10. Left Behind
13. Everything Ends
18. Spit it Out
